Drawn from the memoirs of Herculine Barbin, lover and writer, 1838 - 1868.

Herculine, assigned female at birth, moves through convent life experiencing both casual and intense sapphic loves. This comic takes moments and images directly from Herculine’s memoirs to explore the space and light that her words hold. We encourage reading the memoir alongside this comic, to discover Herculine’s story for yourself.
